Potent Kief Tincture Recipe

We’ve got a great kief tincture recipe below and the reason this all works is through heatless decarboxylation, or the process of turning THCA into sweet sweet THC. Most of us know the fastest way to accomplish decarboxylation is with heat but this potent kief tincture recipe is solely about decarbing without heat. Let’s start by saying that heat significantly speeds the decarb process up. So if you don’t have months to wait then this recipe isn’t for you. But if you have the time – not that much work, literally just time – then you can end up with a more efficiently extracted, more potent, better flavored edible to enjoy anywhere as is or to infuse your favorite dishes with.
To complete this kief tincture recipe you’ll need the following:
- 4g finely ground kief (also called hash, bubble hash, kiff, pollen)
- 2 fl oz high proof grain alcohol – Everclear is a good example. Your amount used can vary based on your taste and also kief density. Ideally, you must use enough to fully submerge your ground kief.
- 2 Clean empty mason jars

- Patience – 3 months to be exact

- Storage Container – Eye dropper bottles

- Ensure your kief is ground, drop it into jar and break it up consistently in there.
- Add your high proof, grain alcohol and mix well. Again, you only want to use just enough to fully submerge your ground kief.
- Store in cool, dry, dark place shaking 3 times daily for 3 months
- After 3 months, strain your solution through your cheese cloth into your other jar and repeat straining as necessary. Careful, some is lost every time you strain. At least it feels that way :P.
- Store in storage container again in cool, dark place.
- Enjoy as needed
As stated in our previous recipes making a tincture or any kind of edible is typically trial and error. Everyone uses different varieties of ingredients, everyone’s bud/kief is different and everyone’s ability and effort will always be unique. That being said there are some best practices to keep in mind when preparing AND consuming your edibles.
TIPS:
- Keep written notes of everything. Note everything including the amount of every ingredient you used, the temperature you used, the time it took to sit, any additional ingredients you decided to add, how much you consumed and how it made you feel, etc and learn what works best for you. You can more accurately adjust your dosages if you know what you’ve already tried.
- Store your finished product in pre-measured or measurable containers. This will make it easier to portion out your finished product accurately. For example, a pre-measured dish for cannabutter, an eye dropper bottle with measurements on the dropper, etc.
- When consuming, take it slow. Edibles typically don’t hit instantly like smoking and can sometimes take hours to kick in – or not. Start with a little and don’t adjust until you’ve given it time.

I heard its a thing now and ive heard alot of people are using this CBD oil thing..I tried searching what this CBD oil is capable of and im very fascinated to know its medical properties and how it can help many people from certain kind of disease like arthritis, compromised immune systems,muscle spasm, seizures, epilepsy, anxiety, and hair loss..
Hi Sanford, I use CBD daily. There’s a ton of information out there regarding its potential benefits for many of the conditions you’ve mentioned. Here’s to your relief!
I found that Grand Mariner brandy also has the same alcohol properties as the grain alcohol has for extracting the THC into the tincture recipe. Grand Mariner is not (quite) as strong as the grain alcohol but tastes 100X better than the “moonshine” in this recipe. Plus if you worry about strength, we took a Marinol capsule put a pin hole in it dropped it in and made our tincture Ultra-Potent. Best thing for plane flights ever. Pull out your bottle, a few drops under the tongue and please wake me when we land.
I haven’t tried brandy but I may next batch, thank you. You and I have a very similar approach to flying, minus the Marinol (though I completely understand if it’s what’s best for you).

Can you use just vodka?
Bud Buzz: White Tahoe Cookies strain is an excellent quirky Indica dominant hybrid strain that will change the way you spend your evenings. Bright green dense buds interlaced with dark orange and perfect for grinding. So, not overly dry or too sticky. This cannabis strain has a nice frosty covering of trichomes and the smell is sweet and spicy with a bit of citrus. The taste is similar to the aroma, the only difference is the slight diesel finish. The smoke smell will hang around longer than most strains so either ventilate your smoke spot well if it’s indoors, or step outside.
To consume this tincture sub-lingually, pour an equal amount of MCT oil into everclear, put a fan on it for about 12 hours, stirring occasionally and the everclear is gone. The MCT coconut oil is tasteless and colorless and a great solvent to accept the cannabinoids from the 95 % Everclear. Strain in a coffee filter, when you strain the Kief from the liquor, it’s a cleaner filtration. The taste is amazing, no burn
